Who We Are
Martin Viette Nurseries, Inc. is a family owned and operated business. Located on Long Island's North shore, we are a full-service garden center whose products are nursery stock, annuals, perennials, fine pottery and statuary, gifts and all other garden-related products. Along with our retail store, we also offer landscape services through our award-winning Ireland-Gannon Associates, Inc., and garden and home structures through Hampton Conservatories. Our continued success and growth is predominantly dependent upon our core customer base, which responds to a combination of our high quality products, the service they receive from our employees, and the overall satisfaction they enjoy from their shopping experience with us. Our Image/Brand
As Long Island's premier garden center, image is very important to us. To create and project a professional company image, we supply uniform garments in accordance with each person's role in the company. Office staff wears attire in accordance with our office dress code. Our customers have long come to recognize and appreciate the Martin Viette mark of quality and refined taste expressed by all of our employees.

Our Physical Work Environment
As in any year-round garden center, staff may work indoors or outdoors (or both), in all types of weather conditions including: sun, heat, cold, rain, wind and snow. Many jobs may be physical and require frequent bending, grabbing and lifting. They may require staff to be on their feet all-day, standing or walking, and throughout it all, staff needs to be both pleasant and energetic. We encourage our staff to maintain good physical and mental preparedness to enable them to perform their work duties in a consistent, high-performance manner.
Our Social Work Environment
We have a very social, caring, and outgoing staff. It is important that all employees get along well with our customers, suppliers, and staff, and are a cohesive part of our team. Our staff is continually encouraged to be a part of the solution. We give employees great freedom to express their creativity, and encourage them to create an environment of visual excitement and safety, and, overall, a memorable shopping experience for our customers. Every employee carries their fair share and performs their responsibilities in an appropriate manner.

Martin Viette employees offer polite, prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic service with a smile. Our staff must have the ability to determine customer needs, offer solutions to their problems, have the ability to be patient when confronted with a challenge, and continually seek knowledge of all of our products. Our customer's time is valuable (as is ours) and the help they receive from our staff is nothing less than immediate and nothing short of excellent.
